Joining HAPIA

If you are interested in becoming a Member, after reading through the information below, please apply by either downloading a Membership application form and emailing it via our Contact email or fill out the online membership form.

Background

The founding members of HAPIA realised that the corporate health industry needed representation via an industry body. The commitment of State and Federal funding to the tune of more than $500 million for employee wellness initiatives was a significant catalyst. Those funding bodies had no easy access to the industry they were about to support. Central representation was essential if the corporate health providers were to position themselves to take advantage of this unprecedented opportunity.

Representation at, and submissions to various State and Federal bodies have dominated proceedings for HAPIA's Executive. This was necessitated by the timing of WorkHealth and the COAG funding to the States and Territories.  We continue to have great success in these areas.

Benefits of Membership... Why Join Hapia?

• A seat at the table and the opportunity to influence the direction of your industry in these pivotal years where prevention is likely to dominate much of the health reform debate

• Regular communication from the HAPIA executive and subcommittees regarding activities in various forums in which HAPIA is active

• Reduced registration costs for your employees and your clients/prospects at the annual HPM Congress

• Use of HAPIA logo on all correspondence, including tender submissions – an indication of your companies commitment to quality and your support for industry “best practice”

• Commitment to quality and collaboration for the greater good of the industry.  HAPIA Code of Ethics

A strong industry body needs to have the mandate that comes with high levels of membership. With 90% of the industry (by revenue) already on board, HAPIA can truly claim to represent the corporate wellness industry in Australia. 100% membership is the ultimate goal.

Eligibility

Although we have three classes of membership, only one of these is currently available, and that is for current service providers in the industry.

To be a member, you must be active in delivering health promotion programs/services in the corporate sector within Australia.

We expect to open the Associate and Student Membership categories in the near future.  There has been significant interest expressed in Associate Membership, particularly from the Private Health Insurance Industry who see corporate health providers as pivotal to their preventative strategies in the future.

Structure

HAPIA is a “not for profit” organisation which is funded mainly through membership fees and conference revenue.

HAPIA has an executive committee of 6 members which include a President and Vice President. Elections are held every two years with nominations and voting by financial members at the time.

Every member organisation has a nominated representative with equal voting rites who is eligible to attend HAPIA meetings, including the AGM.
